I have decided that the presidential election is a very hot popular culture topic right now and I have been looking at the CNN website and have just recently learned that California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has chosen to endorse Senator John McCain for president. "He's a great American hero and an extraordinary leader," the governor said, according to CNN’s report. The article explains how the endorsement of the governor will help McCain in the state of California and he will be able to get support of the Republicans that are already strong supporters of Schwarzenegger. I think it is great that such a liberal state can have a Republican governor and then have him give his support to the leading Republican candidate. According to CNN, on Wednesday, McCain got Giuliani's endorsement as the former mayor announced he was dropping out of the race. I feel that Giuliani is also a good man to have supporting John McCain for President because he was there in New York on September 11, 2001 when the towers fell and will not forget what happened on that day. I feel that all this endorsement will be necessary to help beat Clinton or Obama in the upcoming election. It is important to the security of this country that we not forget what happened and continue the war on terror. Also it is important that we continue “Operation Iraqi Freedom.” We started it and must finish for the sake of the troops who have given their lives, the citizens of Iraq and the world. I have an understanding from reading the debates that it is John McCain’s intentions to finish what we started and therefore it is important that John McCain receive as much positive support as he can!
